Cereplast, Inc. designs and manufactures proprietary bio-based, sustainable plastics which are used as substitutes for petroleum-based plastics in all major converting processes at a pricing structure that aims to be competitive with petroleum-based plastics. The Company develops and commercializes new bio-based resins through two complementary product families: Cereplast Compostables resins, renewable, ecologically sound substitutes for petroleum-based plastics, and Cereplast Hybrid Resins, which replace up to 50% of the petroleum-based content of traditional plastics, like polypropylene, with materials from renewable resources. The Company’s Compostable and Hybrid Resins is used in the converting processes, which include injection molding, thermoforming, blown film, blow molding, extrusion for profiles and extrusion coating.
